Happy CNY!

Woot, it's Chinese/Lunar New Year!

Although I haven't really celebrated since I came to Australia.. 9 years ago..

I miss when our whole family used to gather at grandma's house. Especially mum's side because there's 3 aunts and 1 uncle, meaning my cousins and I would have heaps of fun together playing games.
The inevitable hide-and-seek, tip, hopscotch, 얼음땡(tip and freeze.. or freeze and tip), tarzos(boy, were they were awesome).. and many other Korean childrens' games which I can't remember or translate for.. Memorable times.
And who could forget, the money you'd get from your relatives after greeting with the traditional bow; LIFETIME SUPPLY OF ICE CREAM AND SNACKS!

Ahh. I miss my cousins. They used to be little. But not so much anymore.
=_=

well, happy CNY everyone!

First time on the wheel..

Yep, drove a car for the first time today!

Dad was my supervisor, and he was absolutely - you guessed it - PETRIFIED.
He didn't cling onto the side handle though. So maybe I didn't do too badly?

Knowing nothing about cars, I discovered.. many things after jumping on the car.
For example; how an automatic car just rolls on its own when it's on Drive or Reverse gear.
That was very new and highly fascinating.

First few minutes involved going forward and backwards in the same spot(would've looked very odd without the L plates..), and driving along just using the break only.
Yep, crawlin' around at what. 5 km/h? LOLOL.

Hmm..
- Didn't crash into anything(went very close past a car thrice).
- Didn't hit anyone(crept up too close behind someone once).
- Didn't run anything over(had to wait for a Noisy Miner bird to hop across half the street)..
- Dad didn't raise his voice at all(he facepalmed when I insisted for two other cars coming from the opposite direction to pass before I crossed the double unbroken lines to drive into our driveway)

I think the fastest I went today was 40km/h. I refuse to go any higher than that as of now.
~__~;

Haven't had a new experience for quite a long time(lolHSC); in recount, this was a very fun experience. <:

Dad just handed me an iPod touch.

15 minutes ago.. starting into the fish tank, wondering if that black guppy is dying or just sick.

Now, I'm listening to random c-pop. Oh, and c-rap. (Which is turning out to be.. not so bad o_o)
Pretty random.

So how does the blog title and the anecdote relate?
WELL.
Let me tell you how it all came to be...

After dad almost hadouken'ing me over as he swung open the front door, he stated that he'd give me a present.
DAD'S GOT ME A PRESENT?
Kidding, he knows my birthdate.

It's not my birthday.

So why a present out of the blue?

He rummages for something in his trouser pocket, and brings out something squarey and black(also dirty and ugly, looking like some rubbery industrial leftover), and with joy and a hint of disbelief, he says;
"iPod!"

"...... HUH?"

"iPod!"

"Wh.. whadda wha?"

"iPod! :DDDDDDDD"

The squarey, black, dirty, ugly and rubbery item turned out to be an iPod touch (Gen-1, according to sister), encased in a black rubber back cover.

...To be honest, my first impression was; "Ew. WTH."

"Ew" because it's an apple, "WTH" because... it's a piece of unaffordable technology that I never asked for.

.. Where did it come from? He found it, he says.
Found it?! Yeah, these guys moved out and threw out a whole lot of stuff.. He acquired some other stuffs, too.
Wait.. why would they throw out an iPod..? You sure they didn't just... lose it?
No.. they were really rich or something, so they threw everything out as they moved out.
(Gee.. it's like as if they died and someone decided to just clean the whole house out..)
S...SWEET, LOL, NICE ONE DAD. THANKS!
The previous owner hadn't taken off the initial plastic screen cover, so it's really new. He says you can tell when an iPod's old by looking at the back of it - the apple logo would be faded if it was aged. And this one's clearly visible!

だから。 I'm listening to random c-pop and c-rap(no, I don't understand Chinese at all.) on an iPod touch.
FREE LOOT YEAH!

Although I've a feeling the previous owner would come back for it.. Hurr.

So what does this post achieve? ..... you tell me <:
